Madonna: Denied!

This comes as quite a shock, actually.... Madonna has currently lost her bid to adopt little Mercy James, though she does plan to appeal the court's decision. Judge Chombo has ruled the process with M could open too many doors, making future adoptions easier than they should be, which, in the eyes of the court, could essentially lead to child trafficking. Court officials also feel Madonna's case is bending too many rules. One of the main sticking points is residency. Madge flew in just days before her hearing and was surely planning on leaving just as quickly. It's a pretty tricky situation on both ends. Technically Mercy has family to look after her, but she'd have less hardship financially if Madonna became her mother. M has gone out of her way to show the people of Malawi that she supports their children and she is an excellent parent. I hope they find a compromise that works best for everyone - especially the little toddler!
