Brad Pitt being told
not to show up to work? Sounds unthinkable, but that's exactly what's happened. Brad was lined up to star in
Moneyball, (based on the book by the same name) with director Steven Soderbergh at the helm.
The project was extremely reasonable, by Hollywood standards: the budget was set at $50 million, with a film time of six weeks.
Instead the movie was scraped by the president of Columbia Pictures - a bold move considering Pitt and Soderbergh's attachment to the flick. It seems like a weird decision, especially when the studio could have easily made back their investment. On the up side, Brad can now surprise Angelina at home - plenty of time to hang with kids while drumming up some relationship drama for the tabloids. Gotta use those acting chops somehow!
